Every year Destination Art (Torrance, CA) has a themed art show. Since I have been a member of DA, the theme is always color related. Being visual artists and working with color, this gives each artist an opportunity to work in a color that may not be something they typically work in. This year it is orange! What is orange in our world: oranges, flowers, leaves, animals, sunsets, people’s hair…. Orange has so many limitations as to subject, however it is an unmistakable color in nature, calling for attention. I rediscovered an image I had taken in Michigan when I was hanging out with my sister in November a few years ago. We naturally were admiring the astonishing color of Fall. So this image became my painting inspiration.
